Fokida Sterea Ellada It is built at an altitude of 900-1000 m. on the side of mount Parnassos. Took part in the Trojan War with the name Anemoria. It's history later became tied-in with the Oracle of Delphi. Was destroyed by Philip of Macedonia and rebuilt on the sides of mount Parnassos from where it took its name. It took a dynamic part in the revolution of 1821 and the Great Karaiskakis donated the unwhithering wreath to the city in 1826. Many local Arachovites took part in the wars of the country as well as in the Alvaniko era. Today it is a prototypic traditional mountainous village that has remained intact throughout the years. "And when you see her from afar, an awe will overcome you and a shiver will run through your body." A town of 3,500 residents, on the side of mount Parnassos. Today the 'jewel' of Parnassos Arachova remains vital because it keeps its' traditions alive and the residents remain simple and hospitable. It is impossible to speak of mount Parnassos without thinking of Arachova. Both the mountain and Arachova had ample natural beauty.
